SANJOSE Constructora will Upgrade HVAC Systems at Madrid Puerta de Atocha – Almudena Grandes Station

Adif has awarded SANJOSE Constructora the contract to upgrade the HVAC installations serving the historic building and commercial concourses of Madrid Puerta de Atocha – Almudena Grandes Station.

The project solution includes the installation of a rooftop thermal generation plant consisting of five two-pipe air-to-water heat pumps using environmentally friendly refrigerant with low Global Warming Potential (GWP). These units will supply a four-pipe distribution system that will serve nearly all of the areas included within the scope of the works.

For energy optimization purposes, certain zones will be conditioned using standalone variable refrigerant flow systems incorporating inverter technology.
