Corporación Administrativa del Poder Judicial, Ministry of Justice of Chile, has awarded SANJOSE Constructora the execution of the new Judicial Centre of La Serena in the province of Coquimbo (Chile) for $ 24,974,572 million. This project is part of the Five-Year Investment Plan of the Judicial Power, which aims to improve access to justice, through quality service and improvement of infrastructure.

 

The project, which will be inaugurated in mid-2019, includes more than 12,000 square meters of built surface area and more than 2,000 square meters of developable area, where the Justice Centre of the city will be built, a complex that will house, among other facilities, the Family and Labour court and three civil courts.

 

Works consist mainly of the refurbishment, conservation and remodelling for its new purpose of two existing buildings upon the approval of National Heritage; and the construction of two new buildings, a six-storey building (four floors in height plus two underground floors for parking spaces) and a two-storey building with access at Colón street.

 

The project has been designed taking into consideration the demographic and climatic features of the city. It shall qualify as LEED sustainable building (Leadership in Energy & Environmental Design) and promote energy efficiency, the use of renewable energies, interior environmental quality and innovation of spaces in terms of design, lighting and accessibility.

 

SANJOSE has been present in Chile since 2009 and has a business portfolio in the country of more than 300 million. Its start-up in the country was led by the award of the design, execution and operation for 15 years (except health services) of the first two hospitals under concession regime in Chile, both in the capital city: El Carmen Dr. Luis Valentin Ferrada Hospital of Maipu (70,646 sqm and 375 beds) and Dr. Eloísa Díaz Insunza La Florida Metropolitan Hospital (71,987 sqm and 391 beds).

 

Further, in addition to the operation of these hospitals and the construction of the new Judicial Centre of La Serena, it is executing the Ovalle Hospital (40,887 sqm and 340 beds) and the Carlos Cisternas Hospital of Calama (34,462 sqm and 206 beds).
